While Governor Rick Scott served donuts inside Nicola’s Bakery as part of his “workday” program, a group of activists were not convinced that Scott’s “workday” was anything more than a gimmick to schmooze with community members and the press. Florida Watch Action, Pink Slip Rick and Awake the State were all in attendance. “Pretending to do a workday at a donut shop when most Floridians are wondering when their real workdays are going to begin again — how does this do anything to bring back the economy?” said Amy Ritter of Florida Watch Action.
