As we strolled through the lobby of the Marriott Waterside Hotel in downtown Tampa to catch the beginning of the three-day summer meeting of the Republican National Committee, we couldn’t help but notice the men and women adorned in moisture-resisting attire scattered throughout the spacious terrain.
Yes, folks, the World Dragon Boat racing championship is approaching this weekend in Tampa. And while the Tampa Tribune has given it some coverage, it hasn’t been as much as the St. Petersburg Times, curiously.
Counting tomorrow (Thursday), the Times will have had three reports on this relatively obscure event in the paper in the past seven days.
