Celebrate your love of animals while spending some quality time with your loved ones (both upright and four-legged) during the Animal Planet Expo, a traveling event that stops in Clearwater this weekend.
Attendees enjoy any number of entertaining diversions: Frisbee dog shows; live exotic animal presentations; a Discovery Kids' Endurance Experience that consists of activities simulating the physical and mental challenges experienced by those on the Discovery Kids Channel series, Endurance: High Sierras; a Discovery HD Theater Dome spotlighting programs from Discovery HD Theater; a Pet Den with pet adoption opportunities and "Ask the Vet" sessions offered by the Humane Society of Tampa Bay; a Bug House of butterflies and creepy crawlies; and much more. R.O.A.R. — Animal Planet's nonprofit animal advocacy partnership with leading animal organizations — encourages people to Reach Out, Act and Respond. Attendees are invited to make a R.O.A.R. Promise, which is basically a verbal agreement to perform simple actions that make the world a better place for animals, like taking your pet for a daily walk, spreading the word about conservation or supporting a wildlife foundation.
