On Monday, the Studio@620 opens Alterations: An Exhibition of Art Cloth by the Members of the Art Cloth Network, yet another exhibit held in concurrence with "Convergence 2008," the biennial fiber arts conference of the Handweavers' Guild of America. "Art cloth" is produced using dyes, paints, color removing agents, foils, stitches, silk screening and other surface design techniques. The artists makes the work their own via these processes and strives to layer not only imagery but also a vision and story into the cloth. This textile arts show spotlights the talents of 13 Art Cloth Network members, among them, Susan Ettl, Susie Krage, Carol Larson, Darcy Love, Barbara Schneider, Peggy Sexton, Beverly Snow and Connie Tiegel. An opening reception with the artists takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Mon., June 23. June 23-July 5, noon-4 p.m. Tues.-Sat., 620 First Ave. S., St. Petersburg, free admission, 727-895-6620, studio620.org.
