Despite being dogged by a $10 million Hope Florida scandal, Republican incumbent Ashley Moody has defeated her Democratic opponent Angie Nixon.

According to AP, Moody has won with 50.8%, with 97% percent of votes counted at 8:34 p.m.

The 42-year-old Nixon stunned Democratic party lifers with a resounding victory in a primary race where she defeated retired Army Lt. Col. Alex Vindman despite being outspent 16-to-1.

On the campaign trail Nixon slammed Moody not pursuing any charges tied to the Epstein Files, and also for her ties to the Hope Florida scandal, referring to her as “lying, cheating, scheming, thieving Ashley Moody.”

Nixon also hammered Moody for her refusal to debate.

Moody, a Florida attorney general who was appointed to the U.S. Senate by Gov. Ron DeSantis after Sen. Marco Rubio got called up to serve in the Trump administration, campaigned on economic policies, law enforcement and her record in office.

This is a developing post.
