Tampa restaurant 7th + Grove will host an event on Wednesday, Oct. 28 to discuss the Nov. 3 election and everything at stake.

The free discussion, “Eat, Vibe, Vote: A Community Discussion” is hosted by former WTSP journalist Aubrey Jackson (pictured) who recently stepped away from the station to pursue other passions. Tarence Kinsey—a professional basketball player who recently made a post on Instagram explaining why he will not go overseas to play basketball this season—will also speak.

“No way I can leave my family, friends and race this time around knowing their lives are in danger,” he wrote. “I’m willing to team up with anyone to encourage and demand that everyone vote.”

Maya Brown, a local community strategist who has spent her career helping progressive candidates get elected, will also be joining the event.

The discussion will address questions relevant to voters such as why voting is important, what is at stake this election and what comes next.

Eat, Vibe, Vote: A Community Discussion will take place from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. and is free to attend. 7th & Grove will be selling small plates for $7, drinks for $7 and two-for-one cocktails. COVID-19 protocols are in place.

Those interested can register for the event via Eventbrite.
