In an unusual twist, the years richest opportunity to enjoy cutting-edge contemporary dance came courtesy of an art museum USFs Contemporary Art Museum working in conjunction with the School of Visual and Performing Arts and the Mahaffey Theater. Together they enticed renowned postmodern choreographer Trisha Brown to the area for a multidisciplinary residency that included producing a set of etchings at Graphicstudio, collaborating with students to re-create her seminal work, Set/Reset, and bringing the Trisha Brown Dance Company to USF and St. Petes Mahaffey for performances.
