What would we do without the Zimmers? Whatever roller-coaster ride the Rays are taking us on, we can depend on the steady presence of 82-year-old Don, the team’s senior adviser and a baseball legend in his own right. If we’re dining out, we can rely on Don’s grandson, WTSP’s Restaurant Red Alert reporter Beau, to warn us about creepy crawlers and stranger-than-fiction kitchen discoveries, from rodents to roaches to slivers of human flesh. And if we need a talisman to provide comfort no matter what disasters occur in the pennant race or the local greasy spoon, the Zim Bear has no match. (OK, except maybe for the Joe Gnome.)
