Tampa’s Hat Trick Heroes are a trio of young men — median age 17 — who specialize in ballsy hard rock that charmingly captures the cocky attitude of three highly talented youths with their eyes on the prize. Hat Trick Heroes already have a publishing deal with Nashville-based Combustion Music (Kings of Leon). “Chasing My Tail” is the band’s kiss-off to record-label suits who instructed them to streamline their sound to reach the tween set. It’s a slow-building, anti-authority screed of slamming drums, pounding bass, brawny guitar and kiss-off lines like: “I’m sick of empty talking heads, you can’t slow me down, I’ve seen this movie before.” It’s equal parts classic rock, grunge and modern hard rock à la Wolfmother. “It’s our ‘fuck you’ to the man,” explained lead vocalist/bassist Michael Rumore. myspace.com/hattrickheroes
