If you’re a struggling newspaper trying to balance your paper’s integrity with your troubled budget, what should you not do? Why, get rid of one of the most respected political reporters in the state, of course. It’s unclear what the paper’s executives were thinking (though rumor had it they didn’t like March’s critical coverage of Governor Rick Scott). March went on to cover the legislative session for AP this year and now writes a political column for the Times, among other things. He’s a major asset to journalism in Florida, and we hope we continue to see his byline in 2016.
