How can we locals not love a writer who satirizes all the wonderful weirdness that is the Sunshine State´s essence? And Tim Dorsey does it with such affection and humor — not to mention hundreds of obscure but fun Florida factoids — that readers can´t help loving this wacky place just a little bit more after reading him. His main character, Serge Storms — that homicidal maniac with a heart of gold and a fervent passion for all things Florida — is one of our all-time favorite main characters. Serge will return in February in Dorsey´s seventh book, Torpedo Juice. If we couldn´t laugh at all the godawful things that people do here, we might just go homicidal ourselves. Thanks, Tim, for reminding us to laugh when we want to scream.
