98Rock's large and in-charge morning jock made national news this year by slaughtering a hog on the air. That he took top honors in both of these categories shows the weird attraction-repulsion that's part and parcel of any highly rated shock DJ's provocative lowbrow shtick — even we find ourselves tuning in from time to time to see how low he's willing to go in the name of keeping the ratings up and the phone lines lit. Bubba's obviously good at what he does. We just don't know whether to laugh or cry over the fact that what he does seems to be what a whole lot of people want in their entertainment, without a trace of irony.
