Uncle John’s Band has been paying tribute — but never aping — Jerry Garcia & co. since 1990. UJB’s Thursday night run at the Skipperdome enjoys its 10-year anniversary this year. For the past decade, hundreds of Deadheads of all ages have imbibed cheap libations and gathered in front of the stage to do the Skipper’s shuffle while being serenaded by classic Dead jams, Dylan and Neil Young covers, plus the occasional original by co-frontman Rich Whiteley.
