The proprietor of St. Petersblog, Schorsch added to his media kingdom by delivering his morning email Sunburn to thousands of readers daily, which has become essential reading for Florida political junkies. He then capped that off by creating a new website for political commentary, Context Florida, inspired by the noble but defunct Florida Voices project. And yes, he interjected himself big-time into the St. Pete mayoral primary, hiring a chicken to show up at political forums when Kathleen Ford began ducking them. Not everything came up roses with the ubiquitous political figure, however. In June, as a representative of a pro-Lens political action group, he threatened St. Pete City Council with a lawsuit if they altered the ballot language on the Lens. But as the polls dwindled, so did his support for the Lens. But who remembers that now?
