Not only did these local music linchpins have fundraising concerts thrown in their honor, but friends touched and helped by guitarist/producer Steve Connelly and Darryl Quesenberry, aka Rev. Funky D, launched GoFundMe campaigns that have raised thousands to help both men deal with serious medical issues (plus, in Connelly’s case, contend with a ceiling collapse in his recording studio). This outpouring of support is just more proof we have a pretty special music scene community, one that actively supports those artists who put so much into keeping the area a vital, vibrant place to play.
