A movie theater in its heyday — it opened in 1938 — the Springs Theatre is now the Springs Theatre Recording Studio, mostly used as a studio for audio and video recording, production, mastering, audio editing, audio mixing and motion picture soundtrack scoring. J-Lo, Robert Smith of the Cure, Bobby McFerrin and Jay Leno have rehearsed and recorded there. Once in a while a concert or play is staged at the theater. We would love to see more in the centrally located and charmingly historic space. 8029 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa, springstheatre.com
