This year marked the release of the Tribal Style album Olde Town, which served as an apt reminder that when it comes to Tampa reggae bands, this veteran act is tops. Offering a crisp amalgamation of classic reggae, R&B, funk and nuanced turntablism, their sound is at once fresh and familiar. The quintet is led by siblings Muthoni (keyboards, vocals), TK (drums) and Mugabe (bass/vocals) and includes Blake Yeager (guitar) as well as Michael “DJ Blenda” Mendolusky.
