The Sarasota quartet led by ex-Sons of Hippies frontwoman Katherine Kelly made its debut this spring. Her sweetly sharp snarls are treated with occasional effects, twisting words into odd shapes as she rages guitar riffs, while Greg Ferris’s synths come in spacey sluices or trippy stutters and Morgan Soltes blasts bass grooves to Michael Murphy’s pounding rhythmic base, taking experimental rock to sci-fi psychedelic levels of bombast. facebook.com/plxasurxs
