On June 22, 2013, the Tampa Bay ska community threw a fine and fitting tribute to musician Jim Pedigo, a lovely man and a stalwart of the local scene for more than 20 years who died of lung cancer in April. Most knew him from his keyboard work with the band Magadog, and on this day at Skipper's Smokehouse, a bunch of bands who loved him and/or were influenced by his work — some who hadn't performed together in nearly two decades — united to play their hearts out in his honor while a packed house danced and skanked along. skipperssmokehouse.com.
