We applaud the trailblazing efforts by Leslie Shirah, who bravely opened the upscale, San Francisco-esque Fly Bar in downtown Tampa before the influx of condo dwellers arrived. That takes guts, and so does putting a wine list out there without a Blackstone, Kendall Jackson or Santa Margherita in sight. It’s a small but well-chosen boutique list (32 selections), with talented, virtually unknown producers like Green Point, Schloss Vollrads and Haras. Prices could be lower, but you can’t have everything. A tip: Monday is half-priced bottle day.
