This morning the national Driving for Quality Care RV petition drive will make its 23rd national stop at 11 a.m. for a petition signing event in North Tampa.

Organizers are going across the country to advocate Congress to approve emergency Medicaid relief to the states.

According to their press release,

The American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living began a national petition to urge President Barack Obama (D), the Florida congressional delegation and Gov. Charlie Crist  "to help resolve the chronic underfunding of Florida and the nations rehabilitative and long care services.

The initiative is seeking the extension of enhanced Medicaid funding through the federal stimulus package.

Among those slated to appear at the press event include state House Democrat Janet Cruz, former Tampa City Council and now Republican candidate for state House District 60 Sean Harrison, GOP state Senate candidate Kevin Ambler and GOP Attorney General candidate Pam Bondi.
