Well, so much for that Herman Cain endorsement.
Just weeks ago the former GOP presidential hopeful and pizza chain magnate endorsed his friend Craig Miller in his uphill battle for the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate.
But Miller, who ran Pizzeria Uno and Ruth's Chris Steak House before getting the bug to run for public office, was going nowhere slowly, getting only 1 percent of the vote in a poll done last week by the Miami Herald/CBS 4 in Miami.
So despite the fact that he had adopted Cain's signature 9-9-9 plan, Miller realized the writing was on the wall, and announced today that his Senate bid is history — but not his quest for public office. Instead, he will now compete for the Republican nomination for Congress in a new district that Florida is getting because of population gains (Florida is gaining two new seats in 2012).
