The son of former Hillsborough County Commissioner Brian Blair, 18-year-old Brett Leslie Blair, was arrested this morning on drug charges.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department lists Brett Blair as being busted on charges of possession of Oxycodone and marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia.

A little over a year ago, Brian Blair was arrested on charges that he hit both Brett and his other son, Bradley.  He later was cleared of those charges.

Brett Blair was arrested by the Tampa Police Department.  A spokesman said today that no public information officer was available to comment to CL this afternoon on what led to Brett's arrest.

The arrest comes as Brian Blair is involved in a very competitive race for the Republican nomination for state House in District 47, which encompasses much of Northeastern Hillsborough, including Citrus Park, Keystone, Cheval and Greater Carrollwood.  Other Republicans in the race include James Grant, Irene Guy and Tom Aderhold.  The winner will face Democrat Michael Steinberg in November.
