I graduated with a BA in Communications from the University of Louisiana and immediately fled my small town to pursue a bigger life. I began climbing the corporate ladder, got hitched, got a dog, and bought a home. Life was cooperating with my "plan." In April of 2008 I became a victim of the suffering economy and a layoff. My plan was shattered and I began to blog about my unemployment experience – the emotional highs and lows, the self-exploration, the anticipation, and often desperation. Since then, I have learned to abstain from planning, but still enjoy blogging about life's curve balls – how I deal with them and what I learn from them.
