It appears that one of the city of St. Petersburg’s most iconic structures has new owners.

According to a breaking story by the Tampa Bay Business Journal, the Vinoy Renaissance Resort & Golf Club on the water just north of downtown St. Pete has been sold to SCG Hospitality LLC, an outfit headed up by Tampa Bay Buccaneers co-owner and chairman Bryan Glazer.

According the TBBJ story, the sale was handled through The Plasencia Group, which SCG hired for purposes of representation and development. The selling price has not been disclosed, and a deed has not yet been filed with Pinellas County. While the word “renovate’ does show up, Glazer is quoted as saying in a statement that he looks forward to “the Vinoy being just as iconic on its upcoming 100th anniversary as the day it opened in 1925.”
