In the past couple of weeks, CL has been approached by Tampa residents on three separate occasions who wanted to discuss their fears that their city could be something of a cauldron when the Republican National Convention pulls up stakes in late August of 2012.
Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn discussed security concerns on local television on Sunday, again warning that "anarchists" will be coming en masse to the Cigar City come convention time.
"What is scary is the folks who will descend on Tampa next August, particularly the anarchists, are dangerous, they're violent, they're organized, and they are here to cause mayhem," the mayor told the St. Pete Times' Adam Smith and Bay News 9 anchor Al l Ruechel on that channel's Political Connections (a program that employed Buckhorn for years as a political pundit).
