In the world of Tampa politics, Siobhan Harley has become a powerful player in just a few years.
The most visible member of Bob Buckhorn's campaign team for mayor, the Scottish native was immediately hired onto Buckhorn's staff after he was elected in March of 2011. But now the 25-year-old Harley is leaving to work for a Nashville-based political consulting firm. Her last day on the job is this Friday.
"I think I'm most proud of making the city an easier place to interact with online, to reach out to constituencies that have not really been engaged with city government in the past," Harley told CL Monday afternoon when asked about her accomplishments at City Hall.
It's been well-documented that Harley brought a certain hipness to the Buckhorn administration. She was the main driver behind the city's first "hack-a-thon" that took place last summer.
