Can Local Independent Businesses and National Chains Co-Exist?

For those still debating the finer points of shopping independently or at national chain stores, the Local Initiatives Support Coalition’s Center for Commercial Revitalization poses the question: Can small neighborhood businesses and national chains co-exist?

Back in August, LISC sponsored a panel to examine if communities could create the “right mix” of chain and independents in their commercial corridors to revitalized depressed areas.
