Last night CL attended the first half hour of a debate between Hillsborough County Commissioner Mark Sharpe and noted conservative activist David Caton on the proposed one cent sales tax referendum for transportation slated to be voted on by County voters this November.

The event, held at the Alfano Conference Center, was sponsored by the local Tea party movement known as the Tampa 912 Project and the audience was heavily stacked with those who espouse the Tea Bag philosophy of no taxes and less government spending (among those in attendance was former County Commissioner Brian Blair, a candidate for State House District 47, and was seen taking copious notes, particularly during Caton's address).
