The Professional Association of Visual Artists (PAVA) and the City of Clearwater have done it again. For the third year in a row, the pair, with help from the Clearwater Arts Foundation and Clearwater Main Street, host another Out of the Blue Festival of Art. First initiated as the result of a study regarding the need for cultural opportunities within the city, and specifically, for more quality visual arts experiences, the juried fine art and fine craft exhibit takes place in the cool interior of the Harborview Center. Artists from around the state display anything from paintings, sculpture, photography and ceramics to fiber, glass, wood, jewelry and mixed media. All compete for $10k in cash awards, with winners to be selected by judges Mark Ormond and Roger Sindelir, both respected art professionals and independent curators. May 20-21, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sat.-Sun., 300 Cleveland St., Clearwater, free admission, 727-736-2466, www.outoftheblueartshow.com.
