A 36-year-old Clearwater man was arrested Sunday and charged with contributing to the delinquency of minors, false imprisonment and resisting arrest when it became clear he'd provided the booze — including multiple spirits and beer — for his daughter's 16th birthday.

Authorities became in involved after being contacted by a mother who picked up her daughter from the party, discovered the daughter was "heavily intoxicated" and took her to the hospital. According to a Bay News 9 story, when the cops got to the house some minors inside were texting their folks, telling them that the man was telling them to stay inside and pretend they were asleep. Investigators eventually forced their way into the home and arrested the man.
