Revivals have been all the rage on Broadway for the past few seasons, and Tampa is about to join in on that trend with a revival of its own, a ballet about the larger-than-life pirate, José Gaspar. Originally performed at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center on Feb. 5, 1994, Gaspar — A Pirate Fantasy, is a pirate/love story, a swashbuckling ballet that tells the tale of Tampa Bay’s most famous pirate, José Gaspar. The production, will open at the Straz Center on Jan. 30, 2011.
