The Roosevelt 2.0 held a special event Wednesday, January 26, to discuss one of the most pressing questions for both environmentalists and economists alike: What can we do to make Tampa more sustainable?

The main goal of the event was to educate and encourage the public to help move the city’s culture in a more sustainable direction by thinking locally.

Following refreshments and a brief musical performance, a presentation introduced the five major projects known by the acronym REHAB.

Roosevelt 2.0

  • The Roosevelt 2.0 building is a headquarters for the five sustainable REHAB projects. It also serves as a flex space to share ideas and learn more about ongoing programs, workshops and information sessions. The building itself has taken several steps to becoming energy efficient such as installing solar panels that provide a source of natural light during the day and LED lights to keep the venue well-lit after dark.
  • The Roosevelt 2.0 also has future plans to make their building even more efficient and to serve as a model of sustainability for other urban buildings in the community.
  • Currently, the building is available to rent for parties, special events or performances.
