Aides with President Obama say he will give a major address on job creation as well as provide long term spending cuts after Labor Day, but the President has already laid out plans that he wants to address the struggling U.S. economy.

On Monday
Obama called for extending for another year a cut in employees’ payroll tax and unemployment compensation for those out of work longer than six months. He has also proposed an infrastructure bank to leverage public and private money for roads, bridges, schools and other public projects, renewed tax write-offs for businesses’ capital investments, an overhaul of patent law to spur innovation and approval of trade pacts to promote jobs in export industries.

Tampa area Democratic Congresswoman Kathy Castor told CL that this is "good news," for the Tampa Bay area, especially when it comes to infrastructure, because she said she's been one of many Democrats who have been pushing the President to being "bolder on a jobs plan."
