D'Ann Lawrence White was a reporter and columnist at The Tampa Tribune before she was tapped in a round of Tribune layoffs. Prior to working for the Tribune, covering breaking news, general assignments and feature stories, White was the editor of The Brandon News, also a Media General publication, for 18 years. She has been a full-time journalist since graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism in 1983. She's been a resident of Tampa Bay for 25 years. When she isn't blogging, socializing and pestering people for opinions, she's busy working on her first novel.
