Democrat incumbent Kathy Castor has hung on to beat “MAGA Mike” Beltran and win her newly gerrymandered congressional seat in U.S. House, District 14.

According to the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Election’s Office, Castor has won, with 51.19% percent, with results from 222 of 234 precincts reporting at 8:14 p.m.

Though she served for the last 20 years, Castor’s biggest challenge in this race was her newly redrawn district.

After slumping approval rates suggested Trump could lose a congressional majority in the 2026 midterms, Republicans across the country frantically redrew congressional maps, including District 14 in Tampa Bay, which historically included Democratic-leaning portions of Pinellas County and St. Petersburg.

The new, DeSantis-approved district map is now entirely within Hillsborough County and includes much of Tampa, along with communities in southern and eastern Hillsborough County.
