A new Quinnipiac poll released on Wednesday shows Republican Bill McCollum leading Democrat Alex Sink by 10% in a potential head-to-head gubernatorial election in Florida this November.
The poll shows McCollum dominating State Senator Paula Dockery in their race for GOP nomination, 44-6%. In a would-be matchup, Sink leads the Lakeland based legislator, 35-29%.
A bright piece of news for Sink is that, like the Quinnipiac poll that showed Kendrick Meek losing to both Charlie Crist and Marco Rubio, a good many Floridians surveyed said they've never heard of her. With advertising and other forms of spreading her name across the state, this race is still wide-open.
