"Art microscopist" T. H. Saunders showcases 60 examples of his craft in Art in Science Science in Art. The pictures captured with hi-def photography and precision optics microscopes are dazzling images of mundane objects like Tylenol doped with coffee, tea or wine. Though the subjects captured are no larger than the tip of a needle, theyre recorded using cross-polarization lighting techniques that amplify the crystal's abstract patterns. The colorful, whimsical designs that result from the unusual marriage of science and art are pretty, plain and simple.
