iTunes Festival: London — Paul McCartney (Live)

That Macca has finally produced another triumphant album (Memory Almost Full) at this point in his career is surprising. That he can still howl, shout and rock like he did way back on The Ed Sullivan Show all those years ago is nothing short of miraculous. This six-song set dips into the vast back catalog just twice; the majority is a marketing tool for the new disc's rockers (ignoring its more interesting baroque-pop tunes). Highlights include "Coming Up" as a guitar-driven rave, complete with the slinky "Peter Gunn Theme" lick inserted; Sir Paul screaming out "That Was Me;" and another reminder that "Jet" is one of the greatest rock songs ever written. 3.5 stars
