The condo boom is in full effect in downtown Tampa and St. Petersburg, sparking different fears in each setting. In Tampa, where the downtown is rolled up and put away at 5 each night, folks wonder if the new condos under way (including a Trump project) will really create a true urban residential neighborhood.

In St. Pete, where its downtown already has a residential component, not to mention cool restaurants and art galleries, the question is will $4 million condo units ruin a good thing. Join the PlanetÕs political editor Wayne Garcia as he and a panel of experts talk about how we can harness the condo craze and make it work for our two downtowns on verge of great changes.

Panelists include Chris Vela of the young architects movement; Christine Burdick of the Tampa Downtown Partnership; Don Shea of the St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership; Greg Minder of Intown Group, developers of Skypoint; and Bob Jeffrey, of the city of St. PetersburgÕs urban and historical preservation department.
