Everything we saw at Monday’s protests in Ybor City

In Ybor City, CL photographer Ashley Dieudonne reported several hundred protesters, less Tampa Police presence and more Florida Highway Patrol during a protest organized by Students for a Democratic Society.

“Attendees were all peaceful, albeit pretty antagonistic towards Florida Highway Patrol who were blocking off the highways for us,” Dieudonne said. “Thankfully, troopers have infinitely better temperament than their city-guarding counterparts.”

He did, however, notice bystanders agitated by protester activity. See photos from Dieudonne, Michael M. Sinclair and Javier Ortiz above. —Ray Roa
