Otras Voces: The Radical and Alternative Press in Ybor City is a traveling exhibition organized by the Ybor City Museum Society and featuring more than 90 Spanish and Italian-language newspapers, which were originally published in Ybor City throughout its 100-year history. Amassed over time by the University of South Florida's Department of Special Collections with helpful donations from local historians, the newspapers — published between the 1880s and 1980s — were digitally scanned and saved electronically; the resulting prints have been displayed at different Bay area locations since the beginning of October and their latest home is the West Tampa Library.

Catch a glimpse of the collection and enjoy a roundtable discussion about the importance of including minority voices in present-day media this Thursday. Guests include Patrick Manteiga of La Gaceta, Janet Weaver of the Tampa Tribune, Skip Perez of the Lakeland Ledger and The Weekly Planet's Wayne Garcia, as well as Judge E.J. Salcines and USF history professor, Dr. Paul Dosal.

The roundtable discussion begins at 6:30 p.m. Thu., Nov. 3; Otra Voces is on display at the West Tampa Library through Nov. 18. 2312 W. Union St., Tampa. For more information, call 813-247-1434.
