Leaders of the Florida Education Association, the state's largest teachers' union, filed litigation this morning to overturn new legislation that will reduce cost of living benefits and create a 3 percent pay cut for state employees.
Defendants in what is likely the first in a series of judicial challenges include Gov. Rick Scott, CFO Jeff Atwater, Attorney General Pam Bondi and Department of Management Services Secretary John Miles, who administers the embattled Florida Retirement System.
