Feeding Tampa Bay is calling for volunteers to help feed those in need of Thanksgiving meals.
Poor people sometimes go hungry on the holiday, and the organization is looking to help address the problem—with the help of volunteers. The group will be accepting helpers on Wednesday from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. at 4702 Transport Dr., Building 6, in order to prepare for the holiday.
“If you got the time, come help us do some sorting the day before Thanksgiving, and give back to those less fortunate!” The non-profit wrote on the event page for the volunteer drive.
If you are in need of food this holiday season, or know of anyone who is, Feeding Tampa Bay invites you to visit its “Find Food” navigator.
Feeding Tampa Bay is a member of the Feeding America food bank network, the largest domestic hunger relief organization in the United States.
The group is a distributor and central supply point that procures food, sorts it, stores it, and efficiently matches it to those in need. They provide food for shelters, residential group homes, and the Kids Cafe after-school programs.
