The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Florida was $4.18 on Monday, up 8 cents from a week earlier, according to the AAA auto club.

“Florida drivers are finding the most expensive prices at the pump in four weeks,” AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins said in a prepared statement. “Global supply concerns are keeping upward pressure on oil prices, as many countries look to limit the import of Russian oil. The global crude oil market remains an important issue for motorists, as oil prices account for more than 50% of what drivers pay at the pump. Oil prices have ping-ponged dramatically since Russia invaded Ukraine, and that volatility is likely to continue through the summer travel season.”

The stateโ€™s highest average gas price was $4.38 a gallon on March 11. The highest price in 2021 was $3.36 a gallon, according to AAA.

The stateโ€™s most-expensive gas is in the West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Naples areas.

The least-expensive gas is in the Pensacola, Fort Walton Beach and Panama City areas.
