A George W. Bush appointed judge in Virginia struck down the individual mandate provision of the federal health care reform law yesterday, and Republicans celebrated everywhere, including here in Florida, which has also led the way on fighting the legislation.
Tampa City Council candidate Jason Wilson, an emergency room doctor at Tampa General Hospital, shared his feelings on the law and about what the city council did in October on voting for bringing an Oklahoma based group to provide health care services to city employees at a fundraiser last night at the Bricks in Ybor City.
And the Pinellas County Commission's Transportation Task Force is seemingly only slightly slowing down on trying to get funding for a light rail system there, as they voted yesterday for a one cent transit tax a la Hillsborough County, but opted to wait until 2012 before asking the Pinellas BOCC to put the measure on the ballot.
