Florida Highway Patrol officers discovered more than an inebriated driver during a traffic stop in Seminole County on Saturday.
After receiving calls about a man driving erratically and pulling a trailer missing two tires on I-4, troopers responded to the scene, and pulled over a 27-year-old man who was weaving and whose trailer was causing sparks to fly. The man reportedly had an open beer container in his truck — along with a wallaby, a tortoise, a parrot, a goat, sheep, and a lemur, which jumped out of the vehicle and had to be chased down and recaptured along the highway.
The man was arrested for DUI and hitting three other vehicles. State wildlife authorities are investigating whether he should be charged with additional offenses regarding the animals.
