Tallahassee-
A Senate Committee Tuesday morning voted to place a measure on next year's presidential primary ballot that would (among other things) give a five-year tax break to new homeowners.
The request to place the measure on the primary ballot, and not on the 2012 November ballot, was made by the sponsor of the bill in the Senate, New Port Richey's Mike Fasano. It received unanimous support from the Republicans on the Ethics and Elections Committee, but resistance from Democrats, particularly from Chris Smith of Fort Lauderdale.
