The Kendrick Meek campaign today released a radio ad featuring President Obama extolling the virtues of why Floridians should vote for the Democrat in next month's U.S. Senate race (You can here the ad here).
Perhaps looking for a little variety in their attack message mode, the Marco Rubio forces, in a rare exchange where they acknowledge Meek's presence, are blasting the Obama association. Spokesman Alex Burgos:
For nearly two years, Kendrick Meek has been a reliable rubberstamp for the Obama agenda of higher taxes, wasteful spending, more debt and job-killing regulations. When President Obama needed a yes vote in the United States Congress for his anti-jobs proposals, Kendrick Meek was always there. So its not surprising that the White House would cut an ad for its favorite Congressman. However, Floridians dont need a rubberstamp in Congress but an alternative like Marco Rubio who is the only candidate who will fight to change the direction Washington is taking our country.
Meanwhile the President himself, and not just his voice, we'll be arriving in Miami later today (actually Coral Gables) to raise money for Democratic Congressman Ron Klein's fierce campaign against Republican challenger Allen West.
George LeMieux, the man who actually holds the Senate seat that Meek, Rubio and Charlie Crist desire, talked some trash Obama's way today, saying the visit will boost turnout…for Republicans.
