Bare Naked Bike Ride
Last year, a group of folks got together and organized the World Naked Bike Ride, delivering their vision of a cleaner, safer, body-positive world to the masses.
The group rides again this weekend, and you can link up with the St. Petersburg chapter at Fort DeSoto Park Sunday, Feb. 13. Interested nudists, environmentalists and anyone looking for a thrill should show up around 1 p.m. at the last North Beach parking lot. The ride begins at 1:30 p.m., proceeds to the ranger station, turns around, and ends up back at square one, covering about seven miles altogether. (Yep – real exercise. Not just a naked gathering.) It's casual, so if you don't have a bike, you can run, walk, roller blade, roller skate or even skateboard naked. Just keep in mind that the legal minimum attire in the park is a thong or g-string. Really, this is a "bare as you dare" event, so you don't have to expose too much skin. Or even a standard amount. Basically, you can probably show up clothed, although you'll be the only one hanging out who's not, well, hanging out.
